Hi, I'm Dan. I’m a Design Leader at Google. Previously, I led teams at Instagram, Airbnb, Square, and Strava.

I'm interested in creating products that solve real user needs, and enjoy leading diverse design teams who drive businesses forward through beautifully crafted experiences. 

In addition to being an operator, I also run a design-centric VC fund called Ligature, actively advise a few institutional funds on product and design, and invest in early-stage companies with bold charters.

Head of Product Design, Creators & Content

2019—2023

Content Ecosystems (2022-2023)
Instantiated an org focused on new products to define, and scale the future of Content on Instagram. This included Trend Discovery, Music/Audio, Reels Growth, and IG's role in the Metaverse.

Creators & Discovery (2019-2022)
Built and scaled a multi-pillar org focused on Creator Ecosystems, Creator Monetization, Global Search & Discovery, and Video Products. Led an international team which identified the need and built products to serve Creators. This resulted in company wide prioritization and focus to serve the Creator audience.

 

Airbnb
Senior Manager, Product Design

2016—2019

Led teams to build out a quality tiering and verification platform for Airbnb called Airbnb Plus. Defined and executed on key supply and demand side strategies and numerous product launches with some incredible people. We grew the business from $0 to $750M ARR in under 3 years.

 

Strava
Director of Design

2015–2016

Managed and led a cross functional team of designers and writers across brand, product, and product marketing functions to imagine the future of social fitness, and broaden who Strava serves. Drove strategic work forward to grow the user base by from 9M to over 30M.
